About MAT

The MAT is a high-level mental ability test requiring the solution of problems stated as analogies. More information and test preparation materials are available at MAT. Also, scratch paper and pencils are provided to each tester. See below to register for the MAT online

Test Time: the actual test time is 1 hour but please arrive 15 minutes early for paperwork. Picture of Driver's License

Valid ID Form Required: driver's license, or passport, or military ID must be presented at the time of testing.

Advance appointments are strongly recommended. Note: payment is due when you register for the test.

Dates and Times Offered

The MAT is offered Monday through Friday. However, Friday afternoon appointments are not available from the first week in May to the first week in August.

Cost, Refunds, and Reschedule Policy

The MAT costs $85 as of July 1, 2015 (online registration adds a $3 convenience fee) payable when making the appointment. Use a credit card to pay via telephone. Checks, money orders, cash or credit cards are accepted if making the appointment in person. No refunds will be given. As a general policy, University Testing Services does not provide refunds.In extenuating circumstances, we reserve the right to charge a $15 processing fee for funds issued due to cancelations and/or rescheduling.

Please Note: MAT tests taken prior to July 1, 2015 will cost $75 (online registration adds a $3 convenience fee)

RESCHEDULE. For online registrants: at least 24 hours prior to your appointment, you can reschedule at  Click on:  My Registrations.  Enter your email address.  Reschedule your appointment.

 Also you can reschedule your appointment by calling University Testing Services at 910-962-7444 at least one business day in advance. Rescheduling is not permitted on the day of the test.
