Sponsored Programs And Research Compliance (SPARC) is the service unit on campus responsible for the negotiation, acceptance and oversight of externally sponsored programs. SPARC provides complete sponsored programs administration and support.
SPARC is also the administrative unit responsible for seeing the university remains in compliance with federal, state and UNCW policies pertaining to research.
- Assists with developing proposal budgets
- Negotiates all grant awards, cooperative agreements and contracts
- Ensures that all sponsored projects are in compliance with federal regulations, state laws, and UNC system and UNCW policies.
- Works with PI on fiscal management of sponsored project
SPARC ProvideS Grant-Writing Assistance
Have you ever thought about writing a grant but not sure where to start? Do you need some assistance with a grant proposal that you are ready to submit?
The UNCW Sponsored Programs and Research Compliance (SPARC) Office is excited to continue a grant-writing assistance initiative to support faculty across campus with grant-writing activities.
Drs. Kristen DeVall and Christina Lanier, Sociology and Criminology, have partnered with SPARC to provide grant-writing assistance. Drs. DeVall and Lanier have extensive experience writing grants and are experts in the field of program evaluation.
Kristen and Christina will be holding office hours on Thursdays 10-11am and Fridays 2-3pm in the SPARC Office (Hoggard 173) to assist faculty with grant writing activities.
