International Education Week (IEW)
Join in the national celebration of International Education Week. A variety of activities and events appealing to students and the local community will be hosted on campus. IEW, a joint initiative between the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, was launched in 2000 as an effort to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and to attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States. IEW is now celebrated in over 100 countries all over the world with the goal of demonstrating the importance of international educational experiences. These experiences are essential for developing mutual understanding and respect, building leadership abroad, fostering an appreciation for the U.S. and investing in the future relationships between Americans and citizens around the world. See the IEW website (http://iew.state.gov/) for more information.
