Assistant Professor - Environmental Conservation

Tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Environmental Conservation. Start date is August 2013.
The University of North Carolina Wilmington seeks a conservation scientist who will be responsible for developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in conservation, as well as supporting the current environmental studies curriculum. Candidates with a research program that focuses on current environmental conservation issues in one or more southeastern U.S. ecosystems and complements existing expertise will be preferred. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in environmental science, conservation biology, ecology, or related discipline, have a strong commitment to teaching, and be able to develop a dynamic research program. Successful candidates will have the ability to teach and conduct research within the interdisciplinary context of the fields of Conservation Biology and Environmental Studies. Teaching duties include introductory courses as well as upper division conservation courses, and additional upper level and graduate courses developed in his or her area of expertise.
UNCW is located five miles from the Atlantic Ocean on a beautiful 656-acre campus in the historic port city of Wilmington on the Cape Fear River.
