Only if you have been delegated authority in writing to do so. University contracts or agreements of any kind must be signed by authorized employees possessing written delegated signature authority. You may not execute a contract on behalf of the university unless you have received written delegated authority. The chancellor has delegated signature authority to various positions at the university based upon the subject matter of the contract. If you sign a university contract that you are not authorized to sign, pursuant to NC General Statute you may be held personally liable for any breach or for the value of the contract. (OGC 8/4/2009)
