Panhellenic Council

Panhellenic Council or "NPC" is the governing body for the social sororities that are members of the National Panhellenic Conference. The purpose of the NPC is to foster interfraternity relationships and to promote high scholastic and social standards.

recruitmentFall semester sorority recruitment is a mutually selective process between potential new members and the sororities we have on campus. Potential new members will get a chance to meet all the sororities throughout the week, narrowing down the organizations to the one chapter that fits them best. At the end of the recruitment events, potential new members may receive an invitation to become a member (a bid) for one of UNCW's sororities. Join us on Tuesday 8/29/17 at 7:30pm for Potential New Member Orientation in the Burney Center. Recruitment will be held Thursday 8/31/17-Tuesday 9/5/17 (Bid Day).

National Badge Day

Each year dduring the first week of March, college Panhellenic Councils across the country and in Canada honor the badges of each of the 26 NPC Chapters with the National Badge Day Celebration. Here at UNCW, Panhellenic hosts a program in which a speaker is asked to highlight the importance of the values within the Panhellenic community. Although we all wear different badges with different Greek letters and symbols, we are united as one Panhellenic community and utilize this day to remember the importance of the letters we wear over our hearts.

Sister Sororities

This program was put in place to promote sisterhood between the 10 chapters here on campus. Sister sororities are encouraged to plan sisterhood events with each other such as dinners together at local restaurants, movies at Mayfaire, as well as philanthropy events. Chapter members show their love for their sister sorority by bringing fun treats to the suite, chalking up and down Chancellor's Walk or painting the spirit rocks. Sororities receive points based on what type of event was held and at the end of the semester the sorority with the most points wins the coveted Sister Sorority of the Semester Award!
