The Watson College of Education is the fourth largest producer of teachers at the undergraduate level in the state of North Carolina and has been rated "exemplary" by the State Board of Education. Only 7 out of 47 North Carolina teacher education programs received this honor.
In 2006, the Watson College received the Christa McAuliffe Award for Excellence in Teacher Education from the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, which honors leadership and innovation in teacher education.
Our programs are designed to prepare highly competent and effective teacher leaders and school leaders and emphasize the connections between theory and practice in an engaging curriculum.
The Watson College of Education offers undergraduate degree and licensure programs, graduate degree and licensure programs, and a doctoral program in Educational Leadership.
