Disaster Mental Health TrainingThe CHHS and the Cape Fear Chapter of the American Red Cross are partnering together to provide training for the future deployment of clinically-licensed faculty and graduate students as disaster mental health volunteers. Training and deployment of graduate students in clinical programs has been successfully implemented in other states but not in North Carolina. This collaborative effort – between CHHS and the ARC – represents an exciting opportunity to establish a training program that could be modeled throughout the state.
Training is scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in McNeill Hall room 1051. If you are interested in participating in this program, please complete the online ARC Adult Volunteer application no later than Monday, October 21.
