ECOteal
|
Innovations include the opening of ECOteal in the Fisher University Union. ECOteal is a retail store that offers products focused in support of the UNCW sustainability mission including cruiser bicycles, Arbor skateboards, TOMS Shoes, Sanuk Shoes, BPA-Free Nalgene Bottles, Acholi Beads, bamboo towels and much more. The store is operated and managed by students under the direction of Auxiliary Services. |
Healthy Vending |
Healthy vending was initiated to support the campus community to maintain healthy eating/snacking habits. Products were selected with consultation of a registered dietician. Offerings include low fat, low sodium, dairy free, gluten free, organic and peanut free items. |
Parking Deck |
The construction of the campus' first parking deck was completed August 2009 and was a part of the LEED certified Seahawk Crossing project. The deck features 50 electric vehicle plugs, covered bicycle racks, and is patrolled by two electric GEM vehicles. |
Dub's Cafe |
Fall 2009 welcomed the opening of Dub's Cafe, an all-you-care-to-eat dining venue in Warwick Center serving the NW area of campus. Dub’s has been very popular, and outdoor dining was added in March 2010. |
