Gifts in Action

At UNCW, the journey of learning isn’t limited just to the excellent education offered in the classroom. Last year, unrestricted gifts supported the following priorities that provide a well-rounded college experience.

• UNCW Presents – Arts in Action Series which seeks to culturally enrich, educate and entertain students through diverse programs featuring quality performing artists
• Career Services – to develop partnerships with employers to increase internship and employment opportunities for students
• Campus Safety – to maintain the computers that support the UNCW Alert messaging system and call boxes across campus

A “Magic” Moment at UNCW

Former NBA basketball star, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, spoke at UNCW on October 11, 2012 at Trask Coliseum as part of the Wilma W. Daniels Distinguished Lecture Promoting Diversity and Tolerance. The event was free to UNCW students and members of the community and made possible through a gift from local businesswoman and UNCW Board of Trustees member, Wilma Daniels. Watch the video.
