ITS created the Computing@UNCW program to help faculty and staff make the most of the IT services available at UNCW. Managers may opt to enroll their employees in this program as a way of providing professional development opportunities.
We currently have a blended course model with many courses being instructor-led, as well as many online options through our SkillPort system.
Our first track, Computing 101, is comprised of the following courses. These are designed to give you a comprehensive overview of information technology at UNCW.
You may choose to take one or more of these courses. If you complete all 4 courses in this program, you will receive a certificate stating that you have demonstrated proficiency in all areas.
ITS is pleased to announce the newest addition to our Computing@UNCW training program: Computing 201. This level of instruction has been designed as a direct result of your requests during Computing 101, and it incorporates many of the new technologies available to you at UNCW. These workshops are broken out into the following tracks:
As with Computing 101, you may choose to complete any of these courses. If you complete the minimum requirements for all 3 tracks you will receive a certificate stating that you have demonstrated proficiency in all areas (minimum requirements are listed along with descriptions - simply click the workshop links above for details).
* IT Security also offers the UNCW Information Security Certification Program which is required for Application Developers, System Administrators and Network Administrators. To obtain this certification, you must complete the SkillPort CBT course designated for your group. Quick Start Guide (PDF) here. Optional: You may also obtain the Computing 201 certificate if you complete requirements in the additional two tracks as well.
