"I was awarded the Hollings Scholarship in 2009.  I am currently working towards graduating with university honors while pursuing a B.S. in marine biology with a minor in chemistry and a B.S. in environmental studies.  Since I would like to do research that contributes to the conservation of marine invertebrates, participating in the Hollings Program, which includes an internship at a NOAA facility, seems like a perfect place to start my research experience."
