Mr. Gary K. Shipman

Gary K. Shipman, a resident of Wilmington, N.C.,
was appointed by the governor to the University of
North Carolina Wilmington Board of Trustees to a term that ends in 2013. He serves as a member of the Audit Committee, the Educational Planning and Programs Committee, and the External Affairs Committee.

Shipman has been a practicing attorney in
Wilmington, N.C., for the past 28 years and is the managing law partner of Shipman & Wright firm.

He received his bachelor’s degree from UNCW and J.D. from Campbell University.

His community activities include membership on the NC Advocate for Justice, NC Bar Association, American Association for Justice, UNCW Men’s Basketball Rebounder’s Club, the Supper Optimist Club and ACCESS of Wilmington
