Mr. Mark W. Lanier
Mark Lanier serves as Assistant to the Chancellor and Assistant Secretary to the Board of Trustees of UNC Wilmington, with primary responsibilities in governmental relations, economic development, and board affairs. Educated in the public schools of North Carolina, at Duke University, Appalachian State University, and UNC Chapel Hill, his current professional activities include service on the Technical Advisory Group for NC Southeast (one of North Carolina’s seven regional economic development partnerships), the advisory committee for RIBN (Regionally Increasing Baccalaureate Nurses), the APLU Council on Governmental Affairs, and various state and local Chamber of Commerce and governmental advisory committees. He represents UNCW on the UNC State Relations Council, the UNC Economic Transformation Council, and the REACH NC Operations Council. He also serves on the board of directors of the UNCW Research Foundation.
