New Publishing Faculty Reading at the University of North Carolina Wilmington September 2

WILMINGTON, N.C.—KaToya Ellis Fleming and Michael Ramos will read from their work at a free virtual event sponsored by the UNCW Creative Writing Department.

KaToya Ellis Fleming is editor of Lookout Books and assistant professor of publishing arts at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW). Prior to joining UNCW’s faculty, she was in residence as the 2019-2020 Oxford American Jeff Baskin Writers Fellow. Her writing, which focuses on race and culture in the American South, has appeared in or is forthcoming from the Oxford American, the Rumpus, the Georgia Review, and elsewhere. She is currently at work on a nonfiction book, a biblio-memoir entitled Finding Frank. She holds a BA in English from Spelman College and an MFA in Narrative Nonfiction from the University of Georgia.

Michael Ramos is an Iraq War veteran writer and the Assistant Director of UNC Wilmington's Publishing Laboratory.  His work has been published in Fourth Genre, Slice, and other places. He is a graduate of UNC Wilmington’s BFA and MFA in Creative Writing programs.
