WILMINGTON, N.C.—Assistant Professor of Creative Writing Sayantani Dasgupta will read to celebrate the release of her latest short story collection, Women Who Misbehave, with guest Clyde Edgerton, at 7 p.m., Thursday October 14 on Zoom.

Born in Calcutta and raised in New Delhi, Sayantani Dasgupta is an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at UNC Wilmington. Her most recent book is the short story collection Women Who Misbehave. Her essay collection Fire Girl was a Finalist for the Foreword Indies Awards for Creative Nonfiction. Her essays and stories have appeared in The RumpusHunger MountainThe Bellingham ReviewThe Southern Humanities ReviewThe Hinduand others. Besides the US, she has also taught writing in India, Italy, and Mexico.

Clyde Edgerton is the author of ten novels, a book of advice, a memoir, short stories, and essays. He has been a Guggenheim Fellow and five of his novels have been New York Times Notable Books. Seven novels have been adapted to the stage and/or screen. He is a member of the Fellowship of Southern Writers and is the Thomas S. Kenan III Distinguished Professor of Creative Writing at UNC Wilmington. He lives in Wilmington, NC, with his wife, Kristina, and their children.
