UNCW Website Access & Cascade Training
Due to the moratorium placed on website permissions (sanctioned by the chancellor), we are not doing anymore trainings in the old templates, nor are we on-boarding any new content managers at this time. This message went out to all content managers on June 23, 2021, indicating a hold on all new web permissions requests.
Receiving Access to an Official UNCW Website
To receive access & become a web content manager to an official UNCW website:
- Your access must be requested & approved by the Website Owner (director, chair, or primary web content manager).
- The Cascade Basic Training must be completed.
Requesting Access & Getting Cascade Trained:
The Website Owner (director, chair, or primary web content manager) must submit a Web Permission Request on your behalf. Once submitted, a member of the Web Development Team will contact you regarding a training.
Requesting Student Access:
- If you are requesting for a Graduate Student to receive training the Request to Grant Graduate Student Access to Web Site Directory must be filled out and attached to the request.
- If you are requesting for an Undergrad Student to receive training the Request to Grant Undergraduate Student Access to Web Site Directory must be filled out and attached to the request.
*Please note: Undergrad students are required to use a Cascade Workflow, which requires a Cascade trained approver (can be faculty or staff).
Want a Refresher Course?
If you have already taken the basic training and have access to your website but would like to retake the Basic Training as a "refresher" course, good news! The entire Cascade training is online. Please visit our Cascade Training page and you can watch a variety of helpful Cascade videos.
How do I get access to an additional site after I have completed the training?
All permission requests must orginiate from the Website Owner (director, chair, or primary web content manager). If you have completed the Cascade training and need access to an additional site, please have the Website Owner submit a Web Permission Request on your behalf. Once the request is sumbitted, a member of the Web Development Team will contact you regarding the additional site access request.
Web Help & "Bring-In Your Work" Workshops
Due to COVID-19 we are unable to host "Bring-In Your Work" workshops. We are looking for a new way for people to get one-on-one help with web tasks and projects. In the meantime, if you need web assistance or have a web-related question, please submit the following ITS Request, UNCW Websites Issues & Modifications.
