IMPORTANT: ITS Maintenance Weekend
& Downtime: August 12 – 15

As part of our preapproved scheduled maintenance weekends, from August 12 (noon) – August 15 (8 a.m.), ITS will be performing maintenance work on various network systems. These maintenance weekends allow ITS the opportunity to patch and upgrade UNCW systems, which are required to keep our systems and data secure and resilient.

Please plan accordingly, as there will be a period when the campus is offline.

How this affects you:

  • During these time frames, all systems and services are subject to intermittent interruptions due to patching and reboots.

Friday, August 12, beginning at noon until work concludes Friday evening

  • Internet access for on-campus users, including access to resources like SeaNet, campus email and Canvas, will be unavailable for the duration of this timeframe.
  • Off-campus users will not be able to access any resources on UNCW’s campus network including VPN during this time. SeaNet, email, Canvas and other hosted services will still work for people off-campus. Most Banner resources will be accessible through Horizon.
  • All calls to and from campus (including non-emergency calls to University Police) will not work for the duration of this maintenance window. Emergency call box systems will continue to work for communicating emergencies to University Police dispatch.
  • For the duration of this maintenance, please dial 910-367-0302 to reach University Police for non-emergency calls or 911 for emergencies from your cell phoneBanner/SeaNet will undergo maintenance.

Saturday, August 13, beginning at 8 a.m. until work concludes by Monday at 8 a.m.

  • Network services (including both wired and wireless connectivity) will be subject to intermittent disruptions as maintenance work is completed. Maintenance will be completed by Monday, August 15, at 8 a.m.

You may view our maintenance schedule and details about availability of systems on our Systems Availability page.

Thank you for your patience.
