Modules include project leadership, communication, team building, conflict resolution, negotiation, cost & budget, measuring performance, and change management.You will complete one module per week online. A live webinar will be held every Tuesday that will be taped. The last week of the course will focus on assisting participants to prepare their application for the exam.

Project Management has become critical in the success and competitiveness of public and private sector companies. Enterprises achieve their goals through projects and effective project management. This Project Management Certificate Course will focus on project leadership, communication, team building, conflict resolution, negotiation, cost & budget, measuring performance, and change management. Completing this program will also provide continuing education credits for select organizations and counts towards the Project Management Professional® certification exam requirements by the Project Management Institute.

This course includes requirements to apply to sit for the exam and exposure to all major topics covered, but significant independent study prior to the exam will be required to master the content.

This program provides the opportunity to learn the advanced aspects of project management by focusing on managing projects and your role as a project manager and leader. You will learn how to:

  • better prepare project schedules;

Google 'PMP' or look at most job listings and you will see ''PMP required or desired.' One of the requirements to sit for the PMP exam is to have a 35-hour course in project management. This program is designed for participants who have responsibility for managing projects in their organizations. They are interested in improving their efficiency in project management. Some participants take the course to also prepare for the Project Management Institute exam.

Jeanne Dorle

Jeanne Dorle, Ph.D. is a business consultant, corporate trainer, and educator with over 30 years of experience in providing enterprise solutions to corporate and university clients in the United States, Canada, Mexico, England, Scotland, France and Poland. She is experienced in identifying, analyzing, and solving business problems and assisting organizations in aligning project and program portfolios and resources with strategic goals.

In her academic engagements, Jeanne received the Alpha Kappa Psi Student Choice Award for Professor of the Year and the Chancellors Distinguished Services to Students Award. She was awarded a prestigious Fulbright Research Chair in Project Management at the University of Québec in Gatineau, Québec. She earned a BS with distinction, MA and Ph.D., from the University of Minnesota and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law.

Dorle is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) and a Program Management Professional (PgMP®) by the Project Management Institute (PMI®). She is certified as an Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3) Assessor and Consultant. She chaired PMI®’s Project Quality Community of Practice, is a senior member of the American Society for Quality, and a member of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).
