Networking with Local Leaders

This program was initially to update the Sustainability Action Plan. However, what we quickly discovered is that we need more conversations around different topics of sustainability, and maybe more importantly, right now, we need community. Although the goal has changed, the ability to influence the Action Plan and be more involved with Sustainability is still at the core of these conversations.

In fall 2020, instead of choosing a broad topic for discussion, the conversation started with a question. These questions are commonly asked by the UNCW community, and while their answers can be complex, the understanding is crucial to moving Sustainability forward.

You can see these recordings on UNCW Sustainability's YouTube channel.

New Format

Sustainabili-tea will experience another change in focus in the spring of 2020. Historically, SustainDub has held Our Green Future, a large tabling event to meet local businesses and non-profits with volunteer, internship, and job opportunities. This semester, we will be altering that event in reaction to the pandemic and an abundance of caution. Each week, we will meet with local community leaders to hear their organization and even learn their professional journey. Participants will expand their network and make critical connections for their career development. There will also be a question and answer portion at the end of each tea time!

Thursdays at 3 PM
