Welcome to the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Compliance (SPARC). We offer services to assist faculty in all stages of grant development, from concept to award.

Our Mission

Researchers and research administrators will find resources in SPARC to support and promote their work. We partner with the research and academic community to:

  • Steward sponsored funding
  • Provide timely technical expertise in finding funding
  • Prepare and submit proposals
  • Obtain and negotiate awards
  • Offer compliance solutions in accordance with regulatory requirements

Higher Education Research and Development Survey

The Higher Education Research and Development (HERD) Survey measures research & development expenditures at UNCW. Expenses are categorized by field of research, source of funds, types of research and personnel headcount.
