SPARC staff are committed to helping you every step of the way.Welcome to the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Compliance (SPARC). The office supports research through submission, negotiation, and administration of externally sponsored programs and ensures compliance with institutional and sponsor regulations. We offer services to assist faculty in all stages of grant development, from concept to award.

What is Research Administration?

Research administration is the area where administrative maintenance, compliance, review, or oversight occurs regarding sponsor programs. In every aspect of a research administrator's intereactions with project staff and/or researchers/research staff, there serves a greater role of fully realizing the project to completion. Each of the functions performed serve the greater umbrella term of "reserach administrator" and each is vitally important to meet the Univerity's research mission.

SPARC assists researchers and research administrators find internal and external funding opportunities to support and promote research and scholarly activity at UNCW.

Proposal Development

The Proposal Development team works with you to prepare highly competitive proposals for external funding and ensure compliance with university, state and federal regulations. Please contact proposals@uncw.edu as soon as you know the funding opportunity and deadline.

Award Management

The Award Management team helps you manage your funding in accordance with the terms & conditions of the award. We are your knowledge base for regulations that govern sponsored programs. When you receive your award letter, please forward it to aor@uncw.edu.
