Athletic Training (B.A.)

The Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), the organization that oversees accredited athletic training programs, announced a new policy establishing the entry level degree for the preparation of Athletic Training professionals at the graduate level. To meet accreditation compliance, the College of Health and Human Services will transition the Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training Program (ATP) to offer the Master of Science in Athletic Training in the Summer II, 2020.

To prepare for the transition, applications for the undergraduate Athletic Training program are no longer being accepted. Students entering UNCW Fall 2018 or later who are interested in Athletic Training are encouraged to explore and consider other UNCW majors for preparation to the field of Athletic Training, including the majors of Public Health and Exercise Science.
