Description
Galloway Hall is a six-(6) story, 64,912 GSF (Gross Square Foot) steel frame, masonry veneer facility constructed in 1972 located on the southern side of main campus adjacent to Riegel Road and across from the Brooks Field Baseball Facility. The facility, completed in 1971, (originally called “Dorm ‘71”) was the first residence hall built on the UNCW campus and was the first air-conditioned residence hall in the University of North Carolina system. Galloway hall has held as many as 400 residents but is no longer utilized and is beyond its serviceable life.
Scope
This Demolition Plan applies to all physical abatement, demolition, and waste generating activities performed as a part of the remediation and demolition activities of the project. The project will include an environmental assessment, removal of any hazardous materials, the demolition, removal and disposal of the building and associated utilities, foundations, slabs, as well as the demolition, removal, and disposal of site improvements.

The project is located at 5009 Riegel Road on the UNCW Main Campus.
