The UNCW Fraternity and Sorority Life community is excited to announce the following chapters slated to join our campus.
The NPHC is home to our four historically black fraternities and sororities, also known as the Divine Nine. These organizations are permitted to conduct intake based on the chapters schedule and/ or their need for expansion. Some organizations conduct intake each semester; others do so only once a year.
When organizations are looking to conduct Membership Intake, many of them will host an informational meeting in which the criteria for membership is explained. These are usually publicized via flyers on campus. NPHC will host a general information session about all of its organizations for students who have questions or are unsure about the intake process. This event is called “Black Greek 101” and is held in the fall semester. Complete the NPHC Interest Form to stay up-to-date with our programs.
Panhellenic is the local governing body for 11 women's social sororities that are members of the National Panhellenic Conference. Their primary Recruitment is held at the beginning of the Fall semester with only a few organizations eligible to take members in the Spring.

During Formal Recruitment, prospective members will meet and talk to members of the chapters in the Panhellenic community. In addition, prospective members will have the opportunity to learn about each sorority, meet tons of new people, and tour the Panhellenic houses in Greek Village. In the Spring, some chapters will have an informal recruitment where member chapters hold events on their own.
