Dr. Mohd Anwar, associate professor in computer science at N.C. A&T State University and Dr. Karl Ricanek, professor in the UNC Wilmington computer science department and director of the I3S Institute will discuss the implications of big data for health care and the increased popularity of population health as an area of study. Data can be used to predict, diagnose, treat and prevent disease conditions across diverse patients.

This event is part of UNCW’s year-long interdisciplinary lecture series focused on “Artificial Intelligence in Health” geared toward spotlighting experts from within and outside the university.
