Awards and Honors

Congratulations to graduate student Felicity Doddato! Her poster, An Alternative Approach to Determine the Validity of TOMM Scores, was one of three selected for the APA Assessment Community Student Poster Award, a joint award from APA Divisions 5, 12, and 40. The committee said "we were very impressed with the quality of your study and the impact that your work can have on the field. Well done!" Felecity is being mentored by Dr. Antonio Puente and has been working as part of a team with postdoctoral student Jessica Forde and UNCW Statistics professor Dr. Yishi Wang. Great job, Felicity!

The Association for Behavior Analysis International commended the UNCW psychology program for the broad array of research opportunities available to students and for its “decades-long influence on graduate and undergraduate education in behavior analysis” at the 2017 annual conference in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Sally MacKain is a UNCW professor of Psychology who has won the Board of Trustees Teaching Excellence Award, the most prestigious award conferred at UNCW. Additionally, she received the Distinguished Teaching Professorship Award. Read more here.

Dr. Antonio Puente is a UNCW professor of psychology who has won numerous awards related to his work on clinical neuropsychology. Dr. Puente is also a political immigrant born in Cuba and has done important work creating Spanish-language versions of critical neuropsychological test. He is also an avid surfer!
