Wen-Huai Tsao
Assistant Professor
Dr. Wen-Huai Tsao is an Assistant Professor of Coastal Engineering in the Department of Physics and Physical Oceanography at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. His research combines computational modeling and data assimilation to develop hybrid physical-digital twin technologies for coastal and ocean systems. His work incorporates high-fidelity, reduced-order, data-driven, and laboratory approaches to support resilient and sustainable coastal communities.
Before joining UNCW, he conducted research at the University of Texas at Austin and Louisiana State University, worked as a coastal marine engineer at COWI, and served as an Assistant Professor at McNeese State University. Dr. Tsao is a licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina and Texas and an active member of ASCE, ASME, AGU, and ASBPA.
