Yuna Shin
Lecturer
As a German Lecturer at UNCW, my main responsibility is teaching German. I teach multiple sections of GER 101 and GER 102, but I also teach classes as needed and as assigned, including GER 201 previously. I also bring years of teaching experience at Cape Fear Community College, where I was honored with the Marilyn Goodman Anderson Excellence in Teaching Award for 2020-2021.
I completed my undergraduate work in German and English at the University of California, Irvine, and my graduate work at the University of California, Irvine and Princeton University, where I taught second- and third-semester German. I also did research at the Universität Hamburg and the University of Chicago while pursuing a PhD in Germanic Studies. At the University of Chicago, I taught German literature and culture courses in the Graham School of General Studies.
