Michelle Scatton-Tessier

Senior Associate Dean

Michelle Scatton-Tessier is a professor of French in the Department of World Languages and Cultures. Michelle oversees Faculty Affairs, Graduate Education, and Enrollment Management in the College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts. She has served in a variety of administrative roles at UNCW since 2009 and is celebrating her 20th year at the institution this year. She is completing her monograph on filmmakers and comics aficionados Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet with Amsterdam University Press. Most recently, her article, “The Tarot’s Tower in Agnès Varda’s Cléo de 5 7” appeared in French Screen Studies (June 2024). She enjoys cooking, reading, and sewing all kinds of things.
