Tiffany G Rogers
Lecturer
I joined the criminology team here at UNCW in 2021, an exciting and wonderful opportunity. Though raised in Kansas, I come to North Carolina after nearly 20 years in Texas. For nearly ten years, I worked for SeaWorld San Antonio as a whale and dolphin trainer. Though that may seem a departure from criminology, I have always been interested in behavior modification, a common thread in both animal training and criminology studies. While completing graduate studies, I taught middle school science and university criminal justice courses.
Serving the UNCW community in a social justice focused department is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I look forward to continuing partnerships with community members and supporting students as they chase their passions.

Research Interests
I have a lofty goal of preventing all crime against animals, and I have begun this pursuit in my research. My publications, including a textbook, are related to crimes against domestic animals. However, my dissertation examined online sales of illegal wildlife and wildlife products. Crimes against animals permeate most other crime types, allowing opportunities to work with students on their interests while continuing my research.
