Chadwick L. Roberts
Associate Professor
Chadwick Roberts (Ph.D., Bowling Green State University) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies and the Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies program at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He teaches courses in gender and sexuality, media literacy, popular culture, and rhetorical theory. His teaching and research interests include issues of identity, representation, and subjectivity in mainstream and alternative media. He has published work on gender, sexuality, race, and representation in The Journal of Popular Culture, The International Journal of Comic Art, Intensities: The Journal of Cult Media, and Queer Studies in Media and Popular Culture. He recently finished a chapter on feminist True Crime podcasting for an edited volume on True Crime (forthcoming in 2025 from McFarland).
