Nancy Murdock
Clinical Assistant Professor
Nancy Murdock is a dedicated and highly motivated certified Family Nurse Practitioner with an earned Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. As a well-seasoned nurse with a solid background, she is also well versed in educational theory. As an Advanced Practice Nurse, she has worked as an Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) and a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) serving rural communities. Additionally, she is a Certified Dementia Practitioner CDP. Her background includes years of bedside experience also in critical care, transports, women and children's. She is passionate regarding health maintenance and patient education. She has worked throughout the prelicensure, RN/BSN, graduate Nurse Educator and DNP FNP curriculum. She has served in the past as a mentor to nurses and students in the past and still practices as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Research Interests
Nancy's research interests include hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) as people age and the aging population. As an Acute Care CNS her specialty included cardiology. Her DNP project was entitled Impact of Pharmacogenomics on Prescriptive Practices in Rural Health. She has been involved with several grants in both the University and Hospital settings.
Professional Service
Serves the community as an American Heart CPR instructor and as a provider in rural communities in North Carolina as an FNP.
Community Engagement
She is an American Heart Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Instructor. She provides care to patients as a certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
