Heather Leanne Morgan

Heather Morgan Hughes (she/her/hers) is the Administrative Associate for the Center for Academic Advising at UNCW. She supports the Business Office by keeping daily operations organized and running smoothly for both students and staff.

Heather discovered her passion for higher education while working as a writing tutor at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College from 2021 to 2023. After moving to Wilmington from her hometown of Charlotte, NC, she earned a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies from UNCW. During her time as a student, she also worked at the University Learning Center as an academic mentor and psychology tutor.

In addition to her background in education, Heather brings years of experience in retail management and works as a freelance artist and graphic designer. She is passionate about supporting students, promoting inclusion in higher education, and helping systems work better for everyone.
