Kristen R. Meyer

Academic Advising Coordinator

Kristen joined the College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts (CHSSA) as an Academic Advising Coordinator in the summer of 2024. She also previously worked at UNCW from 2015 to 2021 as a Student Success Advisor in the College of Health & Human Services. Kristen is originally from Greenville, NC and received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Applachian State University. Upon graduating, she taught elementary school in Charlotte, NC for 2 1/2 years. Kristen then returned to App State to earn a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education. She subsequently held positions as an Academic Advisor for Athletes at East Carolina University (2011-2012) and George Mason University (2012). Kristen also served as the Student Record Development & Training Coordinator at the University of West Florida from 2013-2015. Between her times at UNCW, Kristen served as an Academic Advisor at Germanna Community College in Fredericksburg, VA. Kristen is passionate about helping students define what "success" means to them and help students reach that goal. She is also currently a Doctoral Candidate in Virginia Commonwealth University's Leadership EdD progam and will be defending her capstone/dissertation in April 2025.
