Walter worked in public accounting for 30 years auditing banks and public companies - 12 years with KPMG including stints in Charlotte, Raleigh and New York City (national office), and 18 years with DHG (now Forvis Mazars) in Raleigh. While at DHG he was the Firm’s Partner in Charge of Recruiting at UNC-W for 17 years and presented at Cameron School of Business’ annual business week, Beta Alpha Psi meetings, Meet the Firms, and various recruiting events. After retiring from public accounting Walter started teaching Financial Accounting at UNC-W as an Executive in Residence and has also assisted MSA students for 3 years with interviewing tips, mock interviews, resumes, etc. He has taught Financial Accounting since 2021 and recently taught Intermediate Accounting as well as a personal finance course in UNC-W's Honor College. Walter is most proud of his high school daughter (2026 graduation) who wants to attend UNC-W!
