Melissa K Kovich

Assistant Professor

Dr. Melissa Kovich is an assistant professor in the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. As a registered nurse and family nurse practitioner, she has extensive experience working with individuals of diverse backgrounds. Her PhD is in nursing with a concentration on health promotion and wellness. Dr. Kovich was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Future of Nursing Scholar and the first graduate of Purdue University to earn a PhD in nursing. Her research is focused on the well-being of individuals and communities, with previous attention on college student well-being and workplace well-being. She has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in nursing, public health, and the honors college. Her work has been disseminated at local, national, and international conferences. Additionally, Dr. Kovich is also a certified life coach and yoga instructor. She is passionate about health promotion and wellness.
