Steven E. Kaszak
Assistant Professor
Dr. Steven Edward Kaszak is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), where he has been teaching since 2021. He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of North Texas and holds both a Master of Accountancy and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Coastal Carolina University.
Dr. Kaszak’s research explores how psychological and economic factors shape tax compliance and other critical accounting-related outcomes. Recently, his work has delved into the role of personality traits, such as narcissism, in influencing decision-making behaviors within tax and auditing contexts. His research has been published in leading journals, including Accounting, Organizations and Society, the Journal of Business Ethics, and the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy. As an educator, Dr. Kaszak teaches various financial accounting and taxation topics across undergraduate, MBA, and Master of Accountancy programs.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Kaszak enjoys an active lifestyle that includes golfing, working out, and running. He also appreciates outdoor activities and finds relaxation in reading, balancing his academic pursuits with personal interests.
