Meredith E Hovis
Assistant Professor
As an interdisciplinary social scientist, I use methods commonly used in public administration, policy, and economic disciplines. My primary areas of expertise include nature-based solutions (NBS); community engagement and co-production of knowledge; climate adaptation; disaster resilience; and natural resource management, policy, and economics. My expertise is in qualitative and quantitative methods in social science. Most of my recent research investigates the different types of nature-based solutions and green infrastructure to reduce disaster impacts, specifically flooding in eastern North Carolina, to help improve the livelihoods of rural, agricultural, and traditionally marginalized communities.
