Andy C Harrison
Lecturer
Dr. Harrison is a Lecturer in Healthful Living and Fitness Education at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where he teaches courses focused on wellness, physical fitness, and healthful living. With a background in both Health &b Physical Education and Exercise Science, Dr. Harrison has previously served as an Instructor of Health and Fitness Science and as a Health and Physical Education teacher.
Dr. Harrison’s research interests center on health behaviors in sports, athletic development, and leadership within the fields of fitness, physical education, and athletics. His work explores how physical activity and sport contribute to overall health and well-being, and he is particularly passionate about fostering leadership in these areas to improve both individual and community health outcomes.
Outside of his academic work, Dr. Harrison enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife and three children. He is an avid surfer and rock climber, and participates in various other exercise and outdoor activities. These personal pursuits help to inform his teaching approach, emphasizing the importance of staying active and engaged with the outdoors.
Dr. Harrison is dedicated to providing a supportive and motivating learning environment for students to explore the many benefits of physical activity and wellness, preparing them for a lifetime of health and fitness.
