Anita Halvorsen, MBA, MS, FACHE, currently serves in the role of Assistant Professor of Practice in the School of Health & Applied Sciences at University of North Carolina - Wilmington. Prior, Anita was the SVP Executive Engagement at American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). This encompassed oversight of membership benefits/engagement of 51,000+ members, as well as supporting Credentialing, Chapters, Careers, and Ethics. Anita joined ACHE as the Vice President, Professional Development. Prior to professional society leadership, Anita was a leader focused on hospitals and health systems in operations and business development. Anita has a MS in Speech-Language Pathology and a MBA, with a healthcare concentration. Anita has been a national speaker on various subjects including healthcare leadership ethics, community health needs assessments in underserved patient populations, leadership skills in emerging leaders, systems of care, and regulatory and revenue cycle compliance. Anita also holds Board Certification in Healthcare Management from ACHE. She had served the College on national committees, in elected roles and locally as a Chapter President. Anita has also held an adjunct professor position in graduate clinical business and professional issues studies and is a frequent academic guest lecture. Anita is also a competitive open water swimmer and swimrunner.
