Sarah O. Hallenbeck
Department Chair
Dr. Hallenbeck is currently serving as chair of the Department of English. She enjoys teaching classes in the composition and Professional Writing programs, especially English 101, Grant and Proposal Writing (ENG 308), and Writing about Science, Medicine, and the Environment (ENG 313). Her favorite part of the job is teaching students make difficult concepts accessible and interesting to lay audiences, whether in business, scientific, and humanistic pursuits, and talking about the rewards and challenges of teaching with her colleagues. She loves the thrill of the hunt when conducting archival research.
When she's not teaching or researching, you might see Dr. Hallenbeck running or biking on the trails behind campus, splurging on treats at Trader Joe's, or attending concerts with her family.
