Research Interests

Dr. Glose's research focuses on harm reduction in older adults. Her doctoral dissertation examined family caregiving during the hospitalization of an older family member. Results indicated that while hospitalized older adults receive focused health care from many professional caregivers, family members continue to provide many aspects of care including oversight, education, social interaction, and information to staff as well as many health-related tasks that can prevent complications and promote healing. Her subsequent research has focused on fall prevention, delirium prevention, medication harm reduction, and most recently examining older adults' perceptions of marijuana.  She is also collaborating with other faculty on several projects including evaluating an intervention to improve older adults' medication adherence, exploring older adults use of smart phones, and examining ageism of older adults with COPD.

Professional Service

Dr. Glose continues to practice as an Adult Nurse Practitioner supporting community living older adults in maintaining their health and well-being. She has participated in medical missions trips to the Dominican Republic, providing health care services and education to various underserved populations. She also led a service learning trip for nursing students, along with Spanish students, to Peru where they provided health education and screening to children and adults living in rural and remote areas.
