Mark D. Forbes

I joined UNCW in 2016 and have been proud to serve the Seahawk community ever since. With 25 years of experience in higher education and student-centered education, I am deeply committed to helping students navigate their academic journeys, identify opportunities for growth, and achieve their goals.

Throughout my career, I have served in a variety of roles, including instructor, academic advisor, and coach, providing me with a broad perspective on the many factors that contribute to student success. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Science in Education.

My work is grounded in the belief that every student has the capacity to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential when provided with the right support, encouragement, and opportunities. As a member of the Student Success and Retention Team, I am honored to contribute to a campus culture that empowers students to succeed and to support my fellow Seahawks in achieving their academic and personal goals.
