Amber T Ferrell
Program Director, Returning & Transfer Student Pathways
Amber is the Program Director for Returning and Transfer Student Pathways. In this role, she focuses on advising processes, policies, and practices that support students admitted with transfer credit. She works closely with the Office of Admissions and campus partners to help students transition to UNCW and progress in their academic programs. Amber supports academic advisors across the UNCW campus as they respond to the needs of returning and transfer students. She is part of a collaborative team that advocates for students throughout their academic journey.

Amber joined UNCW in 2023. Previously, Amber worked as a counselor in the North Carolina Community College system for thirteen years. She has a background in academic advising, mental health counseling, disability services, testing, and career assessment.
