Gene A. Felice
Associate Professor
Gene A. Felice II creates at the intersection of art, science, and technology, weaving together living systems, digital tools, and community voices. His work often takes shape as hybrid installations, collaborative research projects, and platforms for ecological storytelling. At the University of North Carolina Wilmington, he is an Associate Professor of Studio and Digital Art and Associate Director of Community-Based Learning & Scholarship, where he also directs the Coaction Lab, a hub for interdisciplinary partnerships.
Beyond UNCW, Felice co-founded the Algae Society, an international network of artists and scientists dedicated to exploring algae as a lens for culture, ecology, and imagination. His projects have been presented at the Cameron Art Museum, MOXI Museum in Santa Barbara, and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, as well as at Sussex University (UK), ISEA Hong Kong, and through the U.S. State Department’s American Arts Incubator program in Alexandria, Egypt. In 2024, he joined the Museum for Loss & Renewal in Molise, Italy, as an invited artist-in-residence.
