Wendy Donlin Washington

Associate Dean

Dr. Donlin Washington currently serves as Associate Dean of the Graduate School, where she provides support to graduate students, graduate assistants, graduate faculty, and graduate programs. She is also a professor of psychology with scholarly interests in behavior analysis, health-related behavior, and substance use disorders.

Dr. Donlin Washington has taught classes in research methods, learning, drug use, applied behavior analysis, science and pseudoscience, and the teaching of psychology.

Research Interests

Dr. Donlin Washington is an experimental psychologist specializing in behavior analysis, with particular emphasis on translational and applied approaches. Her research spans a broad range of topics, including substance use, health behavior, the experimental analysis of behavior, contingency management, behavioral economics, and the integration of artificial intelligence and biometrics in treatment. Her work focuses on translating basic behavioral research into therapeutic solutions for health-related issues, with programs targeting unhealthy behaviors such as drug use, medical nonadherence, physical inactivity, and poor dietary habits. She is also a collaborator in the UNCW Brain Health Resilience (BHR) Hub, contributing to the Substance Use and Data Science pillar.
