Michelle L. Donahue

Assistant Professor

Michelle Donahue is an assistant professor of creative writing and the associate editor of Ecotone, a magazine of reimagining place. Her short story collection "Smoke Phase" is forthcoming from Cornerstone Press in fall 2027 and her experimental novel in stories "Budapest | Budapest" was the winner of the American Buffalo Books Fiction Prize and is forthcoming in the fall of 2028. Her work has recently appeared in About Place Journal, Shenandoah, and Brink.

PhD in creative writing and literature, University of Utah.
MFA in creative writing and environment, Iowa State.
BS in environmental biology and creative writing, Beloit College.
