Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs

Dr. Christine Reed Davis started as the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at UNCW on January 16, 2024. Before coming to UNCW she worked at UNC Charlotte where she served for 25 years in numerous roles, with ten and a half as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. She has also held positions at Central Connecticut State University, George Mason University, University of Georgia, and Boston College. In her current role at UNCW, Dr. Reed Davis is a member of the Chancellor’s leadership team that develops the strategic vision and goals for the university. Within the division of Student Affairs, she leads 15 departments and 188 professional staff in developing robust out-of-classroom experiences that support Seahawk students. Student Affairs departments include Campus Life; Career Center; Collaboration for Assault Response and Education (CARE); Campus Recreation; Counseling Center; Disability Resource Center; Housing and Residence Life; Inclusive Futures Program; Office of the Dean of Students; Student Health; Student Affairs Assessment, Planning and Research; Transition Programs; University Learning Center; and University Testing Center.

Dr. Reed Davis has professional experience in the areas of new student orientation, parent and family programs, student conduct, fraternity and sorority life, veteran services, housing and residence life, case management, basic needs support, student organization advising, crisis response and management, threat assessment, diversity and equity services, student affairs assessment, bias response, policy development, and event programming.
