Babette Boyd

Senior Lecturer

I became a full-time member of the faculty at UNCW after a more than twenty year career as licensed practicing attorney; during which time, I became an experienced litigator handling every aspect of numerous civil and criminal cases, from investigation through trials and appeals, in the states of New York, California, and Vermont. I took on various roles during my legal career: as a prosecutor, defense attorney, in-house counsel, and associate counsel in large and small private law firms. I became a member of the Bars of New York, California, Vermont and North Carolina. After moving to North Carolina, I changed my career trajectory from practicing law to teaching. I focused on developing and teaching courses that involved the intersection between law and the related disciplines like Criminology, History, Political Science, Business, etc.
